About IWRM

History

 Natural Resources Institute (NRI) was established in cooperation of the German-Kazakh University in Almaty (here in after KGU) with the Free University of Berlin (the FU-Berlin). The KGU is a holder of master program "Integrated Water Resources Management in Central Asia", which is part of the "Water Initiative" Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany in Central Asia. This initiative is a contribution of Germany to the European Union Strategy for a New Partnership with Central Asia.

Goals

The purpose of the Centre - as a platform to strengthen research and knowledge exchange in the field of IWRM in Central Asia among high level professionals and young professionals. The main tasks of the Center for Central Asia IWRM initiate research and joint research activities with national and regional partners in the field of IWRM.
