Training for young Civil servants of Central Asia

Water-related issues require interstate cooperation, which should now and in future rely on decision makers who have a deep understanding of the recent developments in all aspects of water management, climate change and who have an ability to find a common solution with colleagues from other countries.

In 2015, the first attempt was made to bring young Central Asian civil servants together for a common study trip (both in Almaty and Berlin) to allow them to discuss various aspects of trans-boundary water management together with national experts and representatives of international organizations.

Participants met with German specialists and partners in the “Berlin Process”, and were familiarized with the achievements of German trans-boundary water management,  technical industry advances and scientific research.
