Beginning in 2012, the Water Resources Center of the German-Kazakh University together with scientists from Germany, supported by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Almaty, has been conducting «Water Day» workshops within the «Water Project».
Master's Students studying in the water specialties during the academic year can take part in Water Day. The German-Kazakh University in Almaty cooperates with local universities, the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, the Kazakh National Agrarian University and the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after Satpayev. The workshop participants always present some new discoveries and scientific works.
The Water Day program is divided into two main sessions. The first session is a master-class from water experts and scholars for the young generation of specialists. At the second session of the workshop, on interdisciplinary scientific colloquium, experts and masters organize exchange scientific ideas and results from their work, which will deepen their knowledge in the field of water resources and bring new forces to create a solution to this problem.
Temporal regulation of the water day takes up 2 hours in the afternoon on every second Thursday of the month within the academic period. A master class presented by an expert lasts 20-30 minutes, including questions and answers. The second part of the workshop – interdisciplinary colloquium for students, takes an hour.
