VI - Summer School "Methods and tools for assessing and monitoring water and land resources of Central Asia"

The summer school has been organized within the framework of the German Water Initiative for Central Asia (the “Berlin Process”) and has been implemented by the DKU, the CAWa project (GFZ, University of Würzburg) and other partners since 2014. The summer school will combine theoretical lectures and practical exercises with discussion sessions devoted to the introduction of new methods and tools in water and land management in Central Asia.
Young specialists and students, as well as young professionals from government agencies and research institutions from five countries, take part in the two-week course. The Summer School will present scientific concepts, methods and tools for analyzing and monitoring water and land resources in Central Asia.
The program includes an introduction to geographic information systems (GIS), an overview of remote sensing applications for monitoring land and water resources and an introduction to statistical methods for analyzing hydrometeorological data.
