Central Asian Journal of Water Research (CAJWR)
In November 2014, the OCEEA funded and co-organized a workshop at the Kazakh-German University (DKU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on the establishment of a regional e-journal on Integrated Water Resources Management in Central Asia, renamed to “Central Asian Journal of Water Research (CAJWR)” - a bilingual (Russian and English), interdisciplinary and open access online journal. The Kazakh-German University (DKU) is managing the journal during all of the stages of its cycle. Central Asian Journal of Water Research (CAJWR), ISSN: 2522-9060, is an open-access, peer-reviewed e-Journal dedicated to all aspects of water management in the region of Central Asia.
CAJWR seeks to reach all scientists working in the areas of Water Research and familiarize them with each other’s achievements across the region, not limiting its range to the national audience. It aims to strengthen the existing networks to support creation of the regional scientific community with the goal of developing scientific research in the region.
The Journal successfully passed a registration process and was added to the Russian Science Citation Index (RINZ). Each article receives its own DOI (digital object identifier) number from the Crossref organization. Starting from 2015, CAJWR has published 7 issues.
Since 2016, 15 members of the Editorial board and 4 regional consultants, more than 200 authors of the published articles, 200 reviewers participated in peer-review process, and thousand readers who visited the CAJWR web-site. Authors represent mostly Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan), and Afghanistan. CAJWR reviewers and editors represent such countries as Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Netherlands, and the United States. There three main categories of particpants include: scientific and academic professionals working in the capacity of authors, reviewers and editors.
